The Deutsche Chirurgiestiftung (DCS) participates in several programmes aimed at advancing surgical practice, education, and research in allied sciences. Supporting application-focused research and practical medicine that satisfies patient needs is one of the DCS's main goals.
Internationally renowned surgeons provide specialized courses to help young surgeons advance their knowledge and abilities

To achieve these goals, the DCS runs the International Medical College , a training facility that offers dentists from Germany and abroad the opportunity to acquire additional qualifications.

Furthermore the DCS established the Competency Centre for Law, Psychology, and Medicine as the primary resource for information and guidance to improve expert opinions in the legal and medical domains.

The DCS recognizes today`s urgent need to maintain the high quality of surgical care in Germany, and has set itself the task of doing so.

The foundation pursues a holistic strategy to sustainably strengthen and further develop surgery in Germany. Its approach is based on three central pillars: Continuing education and training, research and practice, and quality assurance and promotion. An important part of this strategy is also the Competence Centre for Expert Opinions in Law, Psychology and Medicine, which improves the quality of expert opinions and ensures standards in medical-psychological assessment through its training courses and research projects.
